Safe Environment Training

St. Mary’s Parish, along with every other Catholic church, Catholic school, and Catholic youth organization in the USA, is charged by the Bishops of the United States to ensure that the children and youth who worship, study, or participate in activities sponsored by a Catholic organization can do so in the safest and most secure setting possible. The Diocese of Boise, in compliance with the U.S. Bishops’ Charter for the Protection of Children and Young People, has established the Safe Environment training programs for children, youth, parents, employees, and volunteers who work with youth and children. These programs provide instruction to employees and volunteers so that children and youth may thrive and grow in a safe environment.  Circle of Grace, the K-12 component of the Safe Environment program, is taught in our Religious Ed programs and helps children and youth understand their own sacredness, the sacredness of others, and how to seek help through their relationships with trusted adults. If you have any questions, want to receive Safe Environment training, or want more information, we invite you to contact the parish office.

If you, or someone you know, is a victim of sexual misconduct by someone in the Church, please contact Veronica Childers, Safe Environment and Victim Assistance Coordinator at VChilders@RCDB.org (208) 350-7556, or Mark Raper, JCL, Director at MRaper@RCDB.org (208) 350-7560.
