Dear Friends and Parishioners,
Each Wednesday evening at the Family Center, our parish holds RCIA classes. RCIA means the
Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults. This year we have one parishioner, Paul, who will receive
Baptism, Confirmation and First Eucharist at the Easter Vigil and another, Kevin, who will make a
Profession of Faith and receive Confirmation as a full member of the Roman Catholic Church.
Both Kevin and Paul have been introduced to our St. Mary’s community at various Masses
over the last few months. Paul and Kevin, and the whole RCIA team, have been learning,
praying, and teaching each other about our faith and how to be better members of our Church in
the eyes of God. It takes a lot of time, desire, prayer and trust in God that this is the right
decision to make.
When we learn about the Sacraments we teach that there are three Sacraments of initiation:
Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist; two Sacraments of Vocation: Marriage and Holy
Orders; and two Sacraments of Healing: Reconciliation and Anointing of the Sick.
This coming weekend (March 11th and 12th) we will offer the Anointing of the Sick at all Masses
in Moscow and Genesee to all who feel a need for healing in their lives. Spiritual, mental,
emotional, and physical ills affect us all. On March 22nd we will have the opportunity to
celebrate another Sacrament of Healing with our Communal Penance Service at 6:30 p.m. at St.
Mary’s in Moscow. We will have eight priests available to hear confessions before Easter.
Please join us.
We welcome Kevin and Paul as they move towards all their Sacraments. Please take
advantage of the Sacraments of Healing being offered to you.
