Tina Anderson

Tina Dawn Anderson is the Director of Music Ministry at St. Mary’s Parish.

She grew up in Yellowstone and Glacier National Parks in Montana with her parents and older brother. After graduating from Columbia Falls High School in 1997, she moved to Moscow and earned an undergraduate degree in music education (band emphasis) with a minor in vocal music education and certification to teach K-12 music, band and choir from the University of Idaho, then a Master of Music degree in trumpet performance from Washington State University. Tina and Jon Anderson were married in 2002. They have been blessed with a daughter, Maia, and son, Will.

Tina has been involved in the music ministry most of her life. She remembers, around age 10, playing a hymn or two on piano at St. William’s Parish in Gardiner, MT and later becoming involved in the music ministry of St. Richard’s Parish in Columbia Falls, first as a trumpet player and then as a singer. While attending the U of I, Tina began her involvement at St. Mary’s by playing her trumpet from the choir loft. A couple of years later, in 2000, she began serving as Director of Music Ministry.

Tina continues to play her trumpet in the WSU Faculty Brass Quintet and the Palouse Brass Company. She also teaches adjunct at the WSU School of Music.  When not playing or teaching music, Tina enjoys gardening, cooking and baking, running and hiking, knitting and crocheting, and spending time with her family.
