Each woman of St. Mary’s Parish is automatically a member of the Catholic Women’s League (CWL). Our objectives are to bring together the women of St. Mary’s for educational, religious, and social events that support fellowship and the spiritual growth of each member.
Some of the services we provide to the parish include:
- Funding for altar needs
- Donating Prayer Shawls – handmade and blessed, to provide comfort for those experiencing sickness or grief
- Offering Baptismal gift baskets for families with new babies
- Hosting funeral dinners
- Hosting Stations of the Cross and Soup and Bread Suppers during Lent.
- Supporting Gritman’s Pink Tea, the Food Bank, Parish Library, and other endeavors
We have hosted a community dance and several Paint-N-Sip events (what fun!). The CWL holds two rummage sales each year in the Parish Family Center and these serve as major fundraisers for our yearly activities.
We meet 4 times each per year when we discuss old and new business and decide on projects to fund, choose Prayer Partners quarterly, and everyone has the chance to win a door prize. While a very informal association, we do have a four member board consisting of President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary.
If you have questions about CWL or feel called to be more involved, please contact our President, Caroline Canney, at 208-882-4355.
